Makeovers:
Do you create change or feel its effects?

Change is inevitable, you can be excited about change and embrace it, or look the other way and be unhappy about it. The one thing I have found to be true is that change is a part of our lives, so why not expect it, create it, embrace it and invite it in. Why burn daylight with your shorts twisted wondering "why me" thereby raising your blood pressure, advancing the aging process, and experiencing pointless prolonged stress.

I used to love doing makeovers as part of my previous employment as a makeup artist

Often I would notice when a client would walk in, their eyes would be cast down, expressionless, shoulders a bit slumped, in cruise control, just going through the motions of their day, lost in thought dwelling on another time and place. I would invite them to have a seat and play for a bit with some new colors or products I had just gotten in. As I created or updated a new look for my client I would often observe a change in their demeanor. As I began the makeover process I uncovered their needs as we talked and I would slowly begin to notice changes. They would start observing their surroundings, sitting up straighter, giving me eye contact, smiling, laughing with joy and excitement, and their energy would shift and start bubbling up. They would transform before my eyes, I loved it. I knew at that time, that I wanted to learn more about helping others (and myself) get unstuck and improve their self awareness and confidence.

Little did I know at that time, that first, I had to transform myself; yet another time.

During a period of some personal challenges I decided to make still another life change, I quit my job. I had no idea what I would do next I just knew I needed to explore my options, find my passion, and begin an even more meaningful life. I took almost a year off, thinking about what I wanted to do, paying attention, and traveling. I was able to visit Niagara Falls, Las Vegas, The Hoover Dam, The Grand Canyon, Sedona (twice), San Diego, Washington DC, New York and Hawaii. During my travels it came to me I was visiting places, examples, expressions, if you will, of power. And, I was coming into my own power. Reevaluating my life, taking a long, hard look at who I was and what I loved to do, fine tuning living my authentic self and learning to follow my intuition with more than a few bumps and scrapes along the way. I was doing a major make over on myself from the inside out.

Visualizations

I created a visualization exercise for myself where I would fast forward to my projected last days of life on the planet and interview myself. Asking if I had lived my life with a capitol L, did I live my authentic life, asking what would I have done differently, what did I leave undone. Through this interview process I would collect bits and pieces of information until I found answers to the puzzle of me and my life. The outcome of my makeover was getting trained to be a Personal Life Coach.

Makeovers from the inside out

I have put away my make up brushes, and now help my clients with a different type of makeover. The makeovers I do now are on my clients thoughts, helping them move through transitional changes like resolving a difficult decision, a physical move; career or personal, letting go of negative self talk, habits, conditioning and image, working through a failed relationship; divorce or break ups, communication issues, losing weight, preparing for retirement, working through fears and self imposed paralysis. I also work with clients at the top of their game that want to stay focused and more disciplined.

I love my job as a life coach helping people design and move forward into the life of their dreams

For a few minutes, take an introspective look at your life to date. What changes do you hunger for? What dreams have not been explored or lived? What are you waiting for? Begin the change today, now while you are thinking the thought and feeling the energy flow. Ask yourself if not now, when? Stretch, reach for your potential, live the life you want to live, that you are meant to live.

More Clarity. More Momentum. More Results.
